Chiyoda-ku, Tokugawa Ieyasu Special Web Site. Check out the 9 places associated with Tokugawa Ieyasu in Edo Castle!

Posted on January 27, 2023 by News Admin

The Chiyoda City Tourism Association has launched a feature website introducing the places associated with Ieyasu in the Edo Castle area in conjunction with the start of the broadcast of the historical drama “What to do about Ieyasu”.

Tokugawa Ieyasu was appointed barbarian shogun in 1603 and established the Edo shogunate. The website introduces the former site of the castle in Chiyoda Ward under the Edo Castle to the prayer halls of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

On January 31, Ieyasu’s birthday, the Chiyoda City Tourism Association’s Tourism Ambassador “Rilakkuma” dressed as Tokugawa Ieyasu will be on sale as an “Odekake Plushie Key Ring” (2,500 yen), available only at tourist information centers. Other Ieyasu-style goods will also be available, such as Patapata Memo (600 yen), paper soap (550 yen), and netsuke made from cherry trees in the moat of Edo Castle.
