The 26th Hina no Tsurushidari Festival” at Izu Inatori Onsen from January 20. One of Japan’s three largest hanging ornaments

Posted on January 23, 2023 by News Admin

The Inatori Onsen Ryokan Cooperative Association will hold the 26th Hina no Tsurushidori Festival from January 20 to March 31.

Hina-no-tsuri-zukuri is a traditional culture of celebrating Hinamatsuri by hanging handmade dolls on both sides of an altar, wishing for the healthy growth of daughters and expressing one’s wishes in the dolls. Along with Sagemon in Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and Umbuku in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, it is considered one of the three major tsurushi decorations in Japan.

Also, from February 18 to March 12, 118 steps of Hina dolls and vine decorations will be displayed at Susanoo Shrine. The number of steps is said to be the largest in Japan. Hours are from 10:00 to 15:00.
