Nara Prefecture has set the discount rate at 50% as its own measure to stimulate tourism demand, and subsidizes up to 8,000 yen per night for travel products that include transportation, and up to 5,000 yen for overnight stays or one-day excursion plans. In addition, Nara Prefecture will add 1,000 yen for weekdays and 1,000 yen for holidays (2,000 yen for Nara Prefecture residents) to the regional coupons, which can be used at participating stores in the prefecture. Regional coupons worth 3,000 yen on weekdays and 2,000 yen on holidays (3,000 yen for Nara residents) will be distributed in the form of electronic coupons.
The period is for stays on February 28 (including check-out on March 1. Reservations made through Rakuten Travel and Jalan are valid through February 28. The subsidy is available at travel agencies, OTAs, hotels, and other accommodation facilities.
