Asakusa View Hotel Annex 6th Ward” opens on March 18. Kabuki-themed guest rooms and a restaurant with an attached stage

Posted on January 15, 2023 by News Admin

Nihon View Hotel will open Asakusa View Hotel Annex 6-ku (2-9-10 Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo) on March 18. Prior to the opening, the hotel will begin accepting reservations at 1:00 p.m. on January 16.

The hotel is located in an area known as Asakusa Park District 6, where movie theaters, yose and theaters have lined the streets since the early Showa period. It is a 2-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express and an 8-minute walk from Tawaramachi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line. Based on the concept of “a base for transmitting culture and experiencing culture,” the hotel aims to be a hands-on hotel where guests can experience traditional Japanese culture.

The first-floor restaurant “Broadway” will feature a stage made of reconstructed hinoki cypress boards that were used in the old Kabuki-za Theater. Visitors can watch the dance of Asakusa geisha from the Asakusa Hanamachi, a hanayanagi (flower and willow) district that emerged in the mid-Edo period, while enjoying light refreshments, and can also enjoy silent films, dialogues between silent films and live benshi, shamisen and koto music, silent films, and more. At the premium lounge “FURUMAI” on the top floor, Asakusa’s famous sweets will be served with drinks.

There are four room types: Standard, Moderate with tatami mats, Deluxe with a small living room and view bath, and Concept to fully enjoy the world of Asakusa, Edo, and Kabuki. The hotel has a total of 199 rooms, 35 of which are Japanese-style rooms and 35 of which are Western-style rooms.

Rates start at 54,000 yen for standard and moderate rooms, 65,000 yen for universal twin rooms, 75,000 yen for deluxe rooms, and 78,000 yen for concept rooms.
