Shizuoka City will open the Shizuoka City History Museum on January 13 to showcase the history of Shizuoka City, including Tokugawa Ieyasu and Imagawa Yoshimoto.

The museum pre-opened in July 2022 as a museum where visitors can experience the remains of the roads and stone walls of the Warring States period up close, with a free area on the first floor open to the public and backyard tours/talk events held. After the grand opening, the second and third floor exhibition rooms, where visitors can learn about the history of Tokugawa Ieyasu and the Imagawa clan, will be open to the public.

The exhibition, “Tokugawa Ieyasu and Sunpu,” will be held from January 13 to February 26, and Ieyasu’s first kimono will be on display.

Admission to the basic exhibition alone is 600 yen for adults, 420 yen for university, high school, and city residents aged 70 and over, and 150 yen for elementary and junior high school students from outside the city. Free admission for local elementary and junior high school students and those under elementary school age.
