Travel is accepting applications from regions that are ready for the national travel support that will begin on January 10.
Prefectures already accepting applications
Hokkaido, Akita, Fukushima, Tochigi, Saitama, Kanagawa, Niigata, Ishikawa, Fukui, Yamanashi, Nagano, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi, Mie, Hyogo, Wakayama, Tottori, Shimane, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Kagawa, Ehime, Kochi, Saga, Kumamoto, Okinawa
The nationwide travel support program at the beginning of the year will subsidize a flat 20% of the travel price (up to 5,000 yen per night for travel products that include transportation, and up to 3,000 yen per night for other travel products) and provide electronic coupons (2,000 yen per night for weekdays, 1,000 yen per night for holidays) that can be used for purchasing souvenirs. The program will end when the maximum budget allocated to each prefecture is reached.
In addition to the above, Yahoo! Travel is running its own campaign, “Save up to 10% anytime, anyone on lodging reservations,” which offers up to an additional 10% off when paying with an online card at the time of lodging reservation.
