Posted on January 11, 2023 by News Admin

NEXCO West Japan will close the uphill section of the Sanyo Expressway (E2) Hongo IC to Mihara Kui IC (toward Osaka) from 22:00 on January 13 to 5:00 on January 14. Traffic Department, Hiroshima Prefectural Police Headquarters, Highway Traffic Police Unit will be on duty to investigate accidents. In case of rain delay, the closure will be in effect from 10 p.m. on January 19 to 5 a.m. on January 20.

By taking Prefectural Road No. 33 and National Road No. 2, the route between Hongo IC and Fukuyama-Nishi IC can be bypassed. The distance is about 37 km, and the time required is about 50 minutes. The off-ramp (toward Kyushu) is open to traffic.

Adjustment of expressway tolls so that tolls will not be more expensive for those who, due to road closures, get off the expressway at the designated outbound IC, make a detour, and transfer again to the expressway in the same direction from the designated inbound IC.
