Nationwide travel support will begin on January 10 after the New Year. Travel agencies and OTAs (Online Travel Agents) are accepting applications one by one, starting with prefectures that are ready.
The nationwide travel support program at the beginning of the year will subsidize a flat 20% of the travel price (up to 5,000 yen per night for travel products with transportation/up to 3,000 yen for other products) and provide electronic coupons (2,000 yen per night for weekdays/1,000 yen per night for holidays) that can be used to purchase souvenirs and other items.
The regions handled and the timing of sales vary according to the allotted budget, but many travel agencies offer point reductions and unique promotions that offer even greater savings in addition to the 20% subsidy. Therefore, we have compiled a list of major travel reservation sites participating in this project.
