NEXCO East Japan is calling for non-essential travelers to stay out of the area as heavy snow is predicted in Niigata Prefecture from midday on December 23 through December 25.
Especially during the night of the 23rd, heavy snowfall is predicted in the mountainous areas of the Banetsu Expressway, and the road is expected to be closed. Carriers and shippers are urged to check the weather forecast and consider making wide-area detours or adjusting transportation dates.
