Konica Minolta x Kansai Television “Kaguyahime came from the future moon”. Screening at planetariums nationwide

Posted on December 20, 2022 by News Admin

Konica Minolta Planetarium has begun distributing the dome theater content “Kaguyahime came from the moon of the future,” co-produced with Kansai Television, to planetarium facilities nationwide.

The two companies are working on supplying content for planetariums with enhanced XR technology in anticipation of the Osaka Expo in 2025. This film was produced as part of this project and boasts 4K x 4K resolution. The story is a science fiction romantic drama set on a future lunar base. In the year 2080, when mankind has established an observation base on the moon and is developing its resources, Kaguya Wakatsuki, a young geological researcher, is sent back in time to present-day Japan due to an anomalous phenomenon. There, she meets a scientist, Ishizaku Koji, and their hearts begin to connect.

The cast features Suzuka Chinzai, an MC on NHK’s science education program for children, and Yoriga Terasaka, who starred in a special effects hero drama. JAXA professor emeritus Junichiro Kawaguchi explains the story in an easy-to-understand manner.
