The “Daiozan Line Station Building Cafe 1 of 1” renovated from the former administrative office at Odawara Station, Izu Hakone Railway. Enjoy valuable exhibits and gourmet food.

Soshu Village Station will open the “Daiozan Line Station Building Cafe 1 of 1” (1-1-1 Sakae-cho, Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture), a renovated former Daiozan Line administration office at Odawara Station on the Izu Hakone Railway Daiozan Line, on December 18, 2010 at 10:00.

Odawara Station used to be the starting point for many worshippers on their way to Daiozan Saijyo-ji Temple in Ashigara City. The former Daiozan Line management office building directly behind the station was renovated as a café, retaining the atmosphere of the early Showa period. Inside the retro-modern store, based on the concept of a “relaxing waiting room in town,” valuable items such as suspension straps, in-train emergency buttons, driving levers, and tickets that were used on the Izu Hakone Railway at that time are on display. One of the stationmaster’s chairs is also used as a seat.

While listening to the sound of arriving trains and platform announcements, visitors can taste the chef’s signature “Ashigara 100% Beef Omberg,” “Teppanyaki Neapolitan,” “Souffle Pancakes,” etc., and purchase “Station House Pudding” in jars (380 yen and up per piece) as souvenirs. In addition, to commemorate the opening of the “Daioyama Line Station Building Cafe 1 no. 1,” rare “hard ticket” tickets, which are no longer in use, will be distributed to visitors on a limited basis (first 40 tickets on December 18, first 30 tickets on each day from December 24 to 25).

Open weekdays 11:00-19:00 (last order 18:00) / weekends and holidays 10:00-20:00 (last order 19:00).
