AEON TOWN opened the urban shopping center “AEON TOWN Toyonaka Shonai” (5-1-22 Shonai-Nishimachi, Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture) on December 2.

The location is the former site of Hankyu Bus headquarters at the corner of the intersection of National Route 176 and the Mikuni Tsukaguchi line of the prefectural road. It is within walking distance of Shonai Station on the Hankyu Railway Takarazuka Line and easily accessible by public transportation or personal car. The two-story building houses 16 stores, and the site is equipped with a parking lot with a capacity of 189 vehicles (parking fees apply).

AEON TOWN Toyonaka Shonai will consist of 16 stores, including the core “AEON FOOD STYLE Toyonaka Shonai”, 3 retail stores, 6 restaurants/food stores, and 6 service stores.

While “AEON MALL” operated by the AEON Group targets a wide area including other prefectures in its trade area, “AEON TOWN” is characterized by targeting local residents in its trade area.

Shonai, Toyonaka City is located in the southern part of the city and has easy access to the center of Osaka, with more than 30,000 households. AEON TOWN Toyonaka Shonai aims to attract customers by targeting a trade area of approximately 30,000 households and a surrounding area of approximately 2 to 3 km.

The AEON Food Style Toyonaka Shonai store will be on the first floor. The store will have a sales floor area of 546 tsubo (9,860 m2), and will be open from 9:00 to 23:00. The store will carry approximately 10,200 items, ranging from fresh foods to daily necessities.

With “health and wellness” as its keywords, the company also differentiates itself from neighboring competitors by placing special emphasis on organic foods, plant-based products made from soy, vegetables, and other plant-derived ingredients, sugar-free products, and gluten-free products in its grocery items.

The town will also house three specialty stores, including “Wellcia Pharmacy,” which also serves as a dispensing pharmacy, “Glasses Superstore,” and “Higo Pet Friendly. In the restaurant district on the first floor, there will be the city’s first fast food restaurant “Burger King,” a sushi restaurant “Uobei,” a yakiniku restaurant “Dairiki” operated by a local meat company, a teppan-yaki restaurant “Koumon-ya Tonpei,” a Yamagata ramen restaurant “Happachi,” and a family restaurant “BIKKURI DONKEY.

In addition, it will have a photo studio “Studio Alice,” a cell phone repair shop “QB House,” and a purchase specialist “Otakaraya,” and will add medical services such as clinics “Harunohi Internal Medicine” and “Sukoyaka Dentistry,” which are scheduled to open next spring.

Shonai, Toyonaka City is a fierce battleground for supermarkets with many competing stores. AEON TOWN Toyonaka Shonai offers not only groceries and daily necessities, but also medical services, specialty stores, and restaurants all in one town. The company intends to differentiate itself from other stores by providing customers with one-stop services.
