G-SHOCK collaborates with art project “Wasted Youth”; navy and white color scheme based on DW-5900

Posted on November 29, 2022 by News Admin

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. will release a new shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch, the DW-5900WY, a collaboration model with the art project “Wasted Youth” on December 9. The price is 15,400 yen.

Wasted Youth is an art project by graphic artist VERDY. In addition to hosting pop-up stores and events, they are also a skateboarding team.

The DW-5900WY to be released this time is based on the DW-5900, which continues the design of the first G-Shock, in navy and white coloring. The Wasted Youth logo is printed on the dial, and the project’s trademark is arranged in a monogram style using luminescent paint. When the light is turned on, the initials “W.Y.” of Wasted Youth appear on the LCD.

Other features include a logo engraved on the back cover, a play ring molded in the shape of the trademark, and packaging that resembles a beer can, all of which express the world view of Wasted Youth.

The collaborative hoodie and T-shirt are also available at the CASIO online store and VERDY’S GIFT SHOP. The front features the Wasted Youth logo and the G-SHOCK logo, with the message “I can’t waste my time anymore” printed on the side. On the back, the original tulip graphic and the illustration of “DW-5900WY” are dropped.
