Mystays Hotel Management will rename HOTEL ACAO (1993-65, Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture) to Hotel New Akao and begin operations in early December.
HOTEL ACAO stands on the cliffs of Nishikigaura, one of Atami’s scenic spots, with the main building opened in 1973 and the new building in 1994. The main building and the new building have a total of 350 rooms. The current owner, ACAO SPA & RESORT, plans to sell the hotel real estate and ancillary buildings by mid-December, and Mystays will take over management of the hotel from mid-December.
Mystays will begin operating the hotel (100 rooms in the new building), restaurants (2 restaurants) lounge, convention hall, large bathhouse, and Sparium Nishiki (hot bath facility) in mid-December. The main building guest rooms and main dining room Nishiki, which are closed, are scheduled to reopen for business in summer 2023.
