Inspired by three generations of its founding family, Breitling has introduced three chronographs with tourbillons in precious metal cases.
The Premier Collection was created when the world was still under the influence of World War II. At the time, wristwatches were tools used by pilots, navigators, engineers, and other professionals, but in 1943, the Premier Collection was introduced, designed in a form that retained the functionality of a chronograph.
The tourbillon houses the balance wheel, balance spring, and escapement in a rotating cage that keeps the whole in perpetual motion. This makes it possible to compensate and counteract the effects of gravity, which affects the accuracy of the watch depending on its position.
Each of the three new models is named after a member of the three founding families of Breitling. The Leon Breitling has an 18K red gold case with a silver dial and a semi-shiny brown alligator strap. Gaston Breitling” has an 18K white gold case with an anthracite dial and a black alligator strap. The “Willy Breitling” has a platinum case with an admiral blue dial and a black alligator strap.
Both models feature the square pushers and Arabic numerals characteristic of the Premier collection. The case back is a see-through sapphire crystal that allows the wearer to view the B21 movement.
