PLASTICITY, mini shoulder bag made from reused plastic umbrellas after the “Moomin Valley and Umbrellas” exhibit

Posted on November 11, 2022 by News Admin

PLASTICITY, an upcycled brand by Mondo Design and creator Akiki Saito, has launched a mini shoulder bag (5,940 yen) made from reused plastic umbrellas after the “Moomin Valley and Umbrellas” exhibition.

The “Moomin Valley and Umbrellas” event held at Moomin Valley Park (327-6 Miyazawa, Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture) from April to July used approximately 1,200 colorful plastic umbrellas to express the world of picture books. The umbrellas were collected, disassembled, and cleaned, and the unique material “GLASS RAIN,” made of multiple layers of various colors and pressed together, was used to create this product. The product weighs only 65g, is resistant to water and dirt, and features a different color for each piece. The size is 210 x 90 x 130 mm (W x D x H).

Limited quantities will be available at Moomin Valley Park and PLASTICITY online store.
