Weathernews has released a weather outlook for the day to enjoy observing the total lunar eclipse that will occur on November 8. A total lunar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon in which the moon is completely hidden by the shadow of the earth and a full moon with a reddish-black discoloration can be seen. A total lunar eclipse will be visible throughout Japan for the first time since May 26, 2021, and the next one will be in three years, on September 8, 2025.
This total lunar eclipse will also be visible at the same time as the eclipse of Uranus. It has been 442 years since July 26, 1580, that a total lunar eclipse and a planetary eclipse have been seen at the same time.
On the evening of the 8th, many areas in the southern Tohoku, Tokai, and Kinki regions are expected to be clear and perfectly observable. There will be a chance for observation through gaps in the clouds in Hokkaido, northern Tohoku, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Kanto. Observation will be difficult in Okinawa and the Sakishima Islands due to the influence of the front.
