Digital Agency renews its “Visit Japan Web” immigration service on November 1. Quarantine, immigration, and customs declarations are now “integrated” into one service.

Posted on November 1, 2022 by News Admin

The Digital Agency will begin using a new version of its “Visit Japan Web” online immigration service today, November 1.

Visit Japan Web is a service for foreign nationals entering Japan and Japanese nationals returning to their home countries, allowing them to pre-register for quarantine (Fast Track), immigration, and customs procedures at major airports (Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Centrair, Fukuoka, Shin-Chitose, and Naha) all on the Web.

The service, which was introduced on December 20, 2021 as part of the waterfront measures in the Corona Disaster, will undergo a major renewal on October 3, 2022 (registration will be available from midnight on November 1). The previously separate procedures of quarantine (fast-track) using “MySOS,” the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare’s immigration health whereabouts verification application, and immigration inspection/customs declaration procedures using the previous version of Visit Japan Web have been integrated into one service.

In addition, the new version has increased the number of languages available from two (Japanese/English) to five (Japanese/English/Chinese [simplified/traditional]/Korean), and offline operation is now possible. In addition, improvements have been made to allow the registration of additional family information in one account, and the registration of multiple planned entry information. The Digital Agency believes that these functional enhancements will contribute to improving convenience for the expected increase in the number of visitors to Japan in the future.

The quarantine (fast track) registration on “MySOS” will be closed after November 1. Although the Digital Agency states that “there is a fixed transition period, which varies depending on the date of entry and the circumstances of use,” it encourages those who plan to enter Japan in the future to register on the new “Visit Japan Web” site well in advance.

The new version of the service is available in detail on a dedicated page opened prior to its full-scale introduction on November 1. The flow of use is as follows.
