NEXCO Central Japan will conduct renewal work on the Tomei Expressway (E1) between the Oimatsuda IC and Gotemba IC by closing the right route on the off-road. The period is 74 days from January 10 to March 24, 2023.
During the period, the number of travel lanes will be reduced from four to two, and traffic congestion of up to 25 km on holidays, mainly on Saturdays, and up to 10 km on weekdays is expected to occur, led by the vicinity of the Toburano Tunnel in the left route of the Tomei Down Route.
For this reason, drivers are asked to divert to Odawara-Atsugi Road, Hakone New Road, National Route 1, and Izu Longitudinal Expressway. If there is snowfall in the Hakone area, the Hakone New Road may be closed, and if it is unavoidable, motorists are urged to use the Tomei Expressway.
