Tokyu Corporation and Ota Ward have established a third sector, Haneda Airport Line Corporation, for the development of a new airport line. The president and representative director is Kazuji Tamagawa, deputy mayor of Ota Ward.
Haneda Airport Line will take the lead in deepening studies toward commercialization of the new airport line.
The New Airport Line is intended to eliminate the missing link between Kamata Station and Keikyu Kamata Station on the JR Keihin Tohoku Line, Tokyu Tamagawa Line, and Tokyu Ikegami Line through the prior construction of the Yaguchiwatashi – Keikyu Kamata section, thereby achieving the project effect as soon as possible. The project also aims to improve accessibility to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, northwest Tokyo, southwest Saitama, and Haneda Airport by providing direct service with the Tokyu Toyoko Line, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, Tobu Tojo Line, and Seibu Ikebukuro Line.
