Stayed the first night at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s National Travel Assistance x More Tokyo Combination! Double subsidy gives 10,000 yen discount on Ginza hotels & 3,000 yen coupon

Posted on October 21, 2022 by News Admin

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government launched “TADAIMA TOKYO PLUS,” a nationwide travel support program, at 12:00 p.m. on October 20, a little later than other prefectures. Since it can be used in conjunction with the “More Tokyo” tourism promotion program for Tokyo residents, it is quite attractive to Tokyo residents! I immediately searched for hotels that had launched the combined plan from the first day, made a reservation, and stayed at one of them.

When combining Motto Tokyo and TADAIMA TOKYO Plus subsidies, the system applies a 40% discount for National Travel Assistance (maximum 8,000 yen per night for travel products with transportation/ maximum 5,000 yen for other travel products) after Motto Tokyo’s “5,000 yen discount per night” is applied.

The plan I booked this time was 17,500 yen per night, so more Tokyo deducted 5,000 yen and the total cost was 12,500 yen. The Tadaima Tokyo Plus discount of 40% was added to that, resulting in a final payment of 7,500 yen. In addition, a regional coupon (3,000 yen since it is a weekday) will be given.

At check-in, I filled in my name and address on two forms: “Application for More Tokyo” and “TADAIMA TOKYO Plus Coupon Receipt and Application for Use”. Then I showed my vaccination certificate on my smartphone application, showed my ID (I have a driver’s license), and that was it.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government has introduced electronic coupons, so what you received at check-in was a sheet of A4 paper. It is to be used by charging it to the “region PAY” application downloaded to your smartphone.

By the way, those who do not have a smartphone can use the A4 paper coupon they received. You can see “nearby stores that can be used” on the map of the application, and stores that only support the application are indicated by red icons so that you can judge them.

So, as soon as I entered the room, I immediately charged the coupon. When I scanned the QR code on the “region PAY” app, this time the 3,000 yen amount was displayed as 3,000 points.

It is important to note that both the deadline for charging to the app and the deadline for using the coupon is “until 23:59:59 on the checkout date”. This is the same for both electronic and paper coupons.

In the meantime, don’t forget to use it because you think “I’ve charged it. I am planning to use up the coupon tomorrow by looking for a restaurant in the area where I can use it.

I will continue to check the official websites of the various hotels in the hope that more plans for combined use will become available in November.
