Posted on October 20, 2022 by News Admin

The National Travel Support program offers a discount on travel (40% nationwide), plus a coupon (3,000 yen on weekdays/1,000 yen on holidays) that can be used to purchase souvenirs and other items at accommodations and other facilities. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has introduced an electronic coupon (TADAIMA TOKYO PLUS COUPON), which can be used by recharging and paying by yourself. The usage procedure is as follows.

1〉 Scan the QR on the coupon you received at the accommodation and download the “region PAY” (Android/iOS version) local currency app to your smartphone or other device 〈2〉 Open the app and log in (new registration required for the first time) 〈3〉 Select “TADAIMA TOKYO PLUS Coupon” 〈4〉 Tap “Charge” in the app to open the camera screen. 4〉 Tap “Charge” in the app to open the camera screen. Scan the “Recharge QR” of the coupon you received and confirm the coupon amount (pt) 〈5〉 Complete recharging.

Electronic Coupon Payment Methods

Launch “region PAY”, a local currency application, before making a payment.

Scan the QR code placed at stores where coupons can be redeemed.

3〉 After entering the payment amount, tap “Confirm” on the screen.

Show the screen to the store staff and tap “Pay”.

Settlement completed

If you do not have a smartphone or cannot use the app, you may be able to use paper coupons received at lodging facilities as-is at some stores (please check with the coupon merchant search).
