Gakken Holdings and Globe-Trotter have released “Sekai no Omiyage Zukan,” an A5-size, 256-page book priced at 1980 yen.

The theme of the book is “Souvenirs from Around the World,” and it is an illustrated travel book featuring souvenirs from general merchandise, supermarkets, folk crafts, fashion, and other items that are unique to the country in which they are found.

In the opening pages, buyers and owners of general merchandise stores who travel the world in search of one-of-a-kind items tell how they became attracted to overseas items and their appeal.

It also introduces how to make the most of local supermarkets, which are essential for buying souvenirs. In addition to introducing supermarket souvenirs recommended by the editorial staff, you can also search for souvenirs you have bought and how many supermarkets you have visited.

In addition, recommended goods from each country and region selected by Globe-Trotter are listed by area: Asia, Europe, America, Africa, and Oceania. You can also discover the differences in specialties of bordering countries and check out what you would like to buy when you visit them someday.

At the end of the book, four collectors introduce goods they have collected overseas and in Japan. Beyond the collections, they also pick out one particularly favorite and valuable item from their collections. Also included is a guide to bringing souvenirs from abroad. After checking the basic rules, you can prepare for your next trip.
