National travel support has begun.
With some exceptions, such as Tokyo, which will begin on December 20, the National Travel Assistance program will subsidize 40% of the price (up to 8,000 yen per night for travel products with transportation/up to 5,000 yen for other travel products) for travel between October 11 and December 20 (including check-out on December 21), and provide coupons (3,000 yen on weekdays/1,000 yen on holidays) for souvenir purchases, etc. The coupon is worth 3,000 yen on weekdays and 1,000 yen on holidays.
Each municipality has an official website where you can search for travel agencies and lodging facilities participating in the program, as well as coupon participating stores. Please check the official website of each area for information on the number of times you have been vaccinated and the conditions for applying for the subsidy.
