Aichi Prefecture adds one more Linimo train for the opening of Ghibli Park, in operation from October 11.

Posted on October 5, 2022 by News Admin

The Governor of Aichi Prefecture has announced that one additional Linimo train will provide the main access to Ghibli Park (1533-1 Ibarake Mawarima Otsu, Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture), which will open on November 1, and will be in full operation from October 11.

This one train was owned by the Japan International Exposition Association and was responsible for spectator transportation during the 2005 Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan. Once the Expo was over, the train was transferred from the Linimo rail yard to Mihara City in Hiroshima Prefecture. In anticipation of an increase in the number of passengers after the opening of the Ghibli Park, Aichi Rapid Transit, the operator of Linimo, took possession of the train and refurbished it, bringing it back into operation in Aichi.
