Hongo Kogyo will open a day glamping facility “Relaxing” (683-1 Terakubo, Makino-cho, Takashima, Shiga) in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, on October 7.
At “Relaxing,” guests can soak in a Shigaraki-ware bath and experience a barrel sauna, as well as enjoy a BBQ featuring local products and a tour of nearby tourist attractions on rental EV bikes. A bath with a Shigaraki-ware bathtub and an outdoor barrel sauna are available for private use.
EV bikes can be rented to tour the 2.5-kilometer-long “metasequoia rows” of the Makino Plateau, which are often used for filming movies and TV dramas, and other sightseeing spots in the area. Local Omi beef BBQ, gibier cuisine, and “Biwako” beer made using water from Takashima are also available, allowing visitors to enjoy the tour with nothing extra.
Rates start at 3,000 yen per hour for each private bath, barrel sauna, RV park, and private BBQ space, and 1,500 yen per hour for EV bike rental.
