Kyoto Prefecture has launched a national travel support website.
Kyoto’s nationwide travel support is called the “Kyoto Charm Rediscovery Travel Project,” the same name as the prefectural discount, and runs from October 11 to December 20 (including check-out on December 21). The subsidy is 40% of the price of a trip to Kyoto (maximum 8,000 yen for travel products with transportation / maximum 5,000 yen for other travel products), and coupons (3,000 yen on weekdays / 1,000 yen on holidays) will be given for the purchase of souvenirs, etc.
The website allows users to search for lodging businesses, travel agencies, and coupon agencies participating in the campaign, but at the time of writing (October 3), all of them are still under “Coming Soon” status.
