New “Bang Bang Bus,” a 100-yen tour of Awaji Island’s Iwaya, begins operation on October 1.

Two types of community buses running in Iwaya, Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture, the former “Raku Raku Go” and the former “Bang Bang Bus” will be merged into the new “Bang Bang Bus” and begin trial operation on October 1.

In Iwaya, Awaji City, community buses have become an essential means of transportation due to the aging population and tourism, so they have renewed their community buses so that people can enjoy Awaji Island to the fullest even without a car.

The fare is 100 yen for adults and free for elementary school students and younger, half the price of the former “Raku Raku Go,” making it easier to use. In addition, a variety of fare plans are available, including a one-day unlimited-ride pass (300 yen) and a one-month unlimited-ride pass (2,000 yen), which can be selected according to the occasion.

In addition to hospitals, junior high schools, and other living facilities, the route satisfies not only local residents but also tourists with “Roadside Station Awaji,” where the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge can be viewed from directly below, and “Biyu Shoho no Sato,” where daily fatigue can be healed.
