Nagano Prefecture has been implementing the “Shinshuwari SPECIAL” as a prefectural residents’ discount (block discount) program, and will start a transportation coupon program on October 1, prior to the transition to nationwide travel support on October 11.
Traffic coupons can be used to purchase tickets and cab fares for transportation within the prefecture. They cannot be used for regular fares on railroads and some bus routes, and a list of eligible businesses is available on the website.
Coupons will be distributed to Shinshuwari SPECIAL users at lodging facilities. Each coupon is worth 1,000 yen per person per night (2 x 500 yen coupons) and can be used from the check-in date to the check-out date. The number of coupons to be distributed is 300,000.
