JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with Aziz Abduhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at JICA Headquarters on September 21.
In his opening remarks, President Tanaka welcomed the progress being made in cooperation between the two countries in the areas of tourism and higher education under the leadership of the Vice Prime Minister.
Deputy Prime Minister Abduhakimov thanked JICA for its cooperation, especially for the first joint exhibition of five Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan) at Tourism Expo Japan, held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 22 to 25, 2012. The two sides also expressed their appreciation for JICA’s cooperation in the realization of the first joint exhibition of five Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan) at Tourism Expo Japan. They also exchanged views on deepening cooperation in the field of tourism in Uzbekistan in the future.
