JR East to Provide Ride Service in Nagano with “Regional Link IC Card,” One Card Can Be Used as Suica

Posted on September 27, 2022 by News Admin

East Japan Railway Company and Nagano City Public Transportation Revitalization and Revitalization Council will provide IC boarding service using “Regional Link IC Cards” for buses and other vehicles in the Nagano area from the spring of 2025.

Until now, the Nagano region has operated the KURURU common IC card for buses, but Suica will also be able to use buses in the Nagano region. With the regional linked IC card, in addition to bus commuter passes, various discounts, and other services unique to the region, Suica and Suica services such as train tickets and electronic money that can be used in areas where Suica and Suica are inter-operable can be used with a single card.

With the transition to the new card, the KURURU common IC card for buses will no longer be in operation.
