Weathernews announced the “First Autumn Foliage Viewing Forecast. The “Autumn Foliage Ch.” on the “WeatherNews” smartphone application has been opened, providing information on the best viewing dates and spots at approximately 800 famous places throughout Japan. The “Second Autumn Foliage Viewing Forecast” is scheduled to be released in mid-October.
In Hokkaido, the autumn foliage season has already started with the best time to view the leaves. The autumn foliage season is expected to begin in late October to early November in northern Japan and in mid to late November in eastern and western Japan.
Due to the influence of higher-than-normal temperatures through October, the best time to see the blossoms is expected to be slightly delayed, especially along the mountains. On the other hand, in the plains, the season is expected to be on par with the normal due to the influence of cold weather starting in November.
