Garmin’s Edge Explore 2 cycle computer specializing in navigation functions

Posted on September 16, 2022 by News Admin

Garmin Japan will release the Edge Explore 2, a navigation-focused version of its Edge series of cycle computers, on September 22. The company has begun accepting reservations in advance of this release.

The Edge series is a GPS cycle computer series developed in collaboration with the Tour de France and other UCI ProTour teams. In addition to basic performance features such as highly accurate GPS, various data items, a display that is highly visible even in direct sunlight, and a long battery life, the series also includes performance measurement, navigation functions, and smart functions.

The Edge Explore 2 is a cycle navigator with improved battery life and unclear location information for those who enjoy cycling not only for racing but also for leisure activities such as travel and cycling. The 3.0-inch full-color display is easy to read in direct sunlight. It can be operated by touch screen.

The battery provides approximately 16 hours of operation and can be used in direct sunlight without overheating. In addition, the Edge Explore 2 Power is also compatible with cycling on an e-bike (electric bicycle) and can be used while charging the battery by connecting it to the bicycle’s battery.

In addition, altitude and gradient information is visualized and provided in an easy-to-understand manner. By obtaining hill-climbing information in advance, cyclists can plan cycling trips that they can enjoy without strain, such as conserving energy and taking breaks. Information on nearby convenience stores, cafes, and water supply points is also included.

As part of the launch campaign, 15 winners will be selected by drawing from among those who purchase the Edge Explore 2/2 Power, and will receive a Varia RTL515 rear view radar with built-in taillight, a Varia RVR 315 rear view radar, and an Edge cycle computer extended battery pack. The period is from September 15 to October 31.

The Edge Explore 2 is priced at 52,800 yen and the Edge Explore 2 Power at 60,800 yen.
