On October 14, which marks the 150th anniversary of the start of the railroad industry, JR East Japan Planning will launch the “Railway Meister Test” service, which allows railroad fans nationwide to quantitatively measure their knowledge.
Prior to the start of the service, JRE MALL will begin accepting advance orders at 10:00 on September 16. The fee for the advance order is 4,050 yen (regular fee: 4,500 yen).
The “Railway Meister Test” is a fee-based online test that can be taken via smartphone or PC. It allows users to systematize their knowledge of railroad hobbies, expand their interests to a more interdisciplinary level, and engage in dialogue and exchange between genres. The test consists of 50 questions in five areas: “rolling stock, trains and stations,” “history,” “technology,” “timetables,” and “travel and food.
