Posted on September 9, 2022 by News Admin

LEGO Japan, LEGOLAND Japan, and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) will hold “Experience Hero 2022 – Racer Edition” at LEGOLAND Japan for nine days from October 15 to 23.

The LEGO Group and TGR have teamed up to offer a special experience that can only be realized by these three companies, including the chance to touch a real racing car and interact with a professional racing driver.

Visitors will be able to experience riding in racing cars such as the TS050 Hybrid, which competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the ADVAN SF19, which is used in the All-Japan Super Formula Championship, as well as see LEGO block reproductions of each car.

Prior to the event, a special workshop will be held at the Rebuild the World Center starting September 9. Under the theme of “Be a Car Designer of the Future! the participants will create and design 1,500 LEGO cars (planned) based on their own ideas, which will be exhibited on the wall.

In addition, “LEGO customized cars” created by children who participated in LEGO workshops at race sites nationwide and two types of mosaic art (2.7 x 4.7m planned) consisting of images of more than 1,500 cars submitted through SNS campaign will be unveiled.

As a finale to the event, 35 TGR drivers, including Ryo Hirakawa, winner of the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans, will visit LEGOLAND Japan for two days from October 22 to 23. Visitors will be able to ride in a two-seater kart driven by these drivers and experience professional driving up close, as well as take commemorative photos with the drivers.
