The “Mt. Minobu Ropeway” operated by the Minobu Tozan Railway will hold the “41st Diamond Fuji Viewing Party” with a special early morning operation from September 30 to October 2.
Diamond Fuji is a rare phenomenon in which the sun shines like a diamond ring when it overlaps with the summit of Mt. At the viewing event held at the eastern observatory on the summit of Mt. Minobu, visitors can enjoy the fantastic sight at the moment of sunrise while basking in the power of Mt.
The ropeway ride from Kuonji Station (4226 Minobu, Minobu-cho, Minamikoma-gun, Yamanashi Prefecture) at the foot of the mountain to the 1153-meter-high summit takes about 7 minutes one way. On the day of the tour, the ropeway will start at 5:00 a.m. to catch the sunrise at 6:05 a.m., which is much earlier than usual. The round-trip fare is 1,500 yen for adults and 750 yen for children (4-11 years old).
