Gakken Holdings and Globe-Trotter have released “Globe-Trotter J00 Japan 2023-24.
Since its first issue in 1979, “Globe-Trotter” has covered about 160 countries and regions. However, “Japan” has never been published, making it an unlikely guidebook.
The book contains a total of 1,056 pages, the largest number of pages in the series, and covers all 47 prefectures of Japan. The book includes “Tokaido Gojo-San-tsugi,” which traces the present and past of the Tokaido Highway with Ukiyoe by Hiroshige Utagawa, and “Nishi-Oyama to Wakkanai,” which crosses Japan, as well as plans that take in history and culture for as long as 16 nights and 17 days.
In addition, traditional local cuisine, local sake, cherry blossoms, and hot springs are also introduced. Each prefecture is introduced on pages 18 to 21, with each prefecture’s national pride and model routes featured.
