Free alternative route measures on Hokuriku Expressway due to traffic restrictions on National Highway No. 8 caused by heavy rain, starting at midnight on August 10.

Posted on August 9, 2022 by News Admin

NEXCO Central Japan will implement the alternative route (free of charge) measures for National Route 8 on the Hokuriku Expressway and other roads. The period is from midnight on August 10 to the lifting of traffic restrictions on National Route 8.

Due to soil runoff caused by heavy rain, a portion of National Route 8 has been restricted to one-way traffic since August 9, and traffic congestion has been caused by the closure of the Hokuriku Expressway.

The company will lift the closure of the Hokuriku Expressway in the up direction (southbound) only at 0:00 a.m. on August 10, and the following section will be made available for free travel as an alternative route.

The designated interchanges for inflow are the Takefu IC, Imajo IC, and Nanjo Smart IC on the Hokuriku Expressway (uphill), and the designated interchanges for outflow are the Tsuruga IC and Kinomoto IC. Even if you use the tolls within the designated section, the combination of an entrance and exit at an IC other than the designated one will not be covered by the tolls.

When using ETC, the toll is displayed at the exit toll booth, and the usage history is displayed on the usage inquiry service. If you do not use ETC, you can obtain a ticket at the entrance and use the general lane at the exit.
