The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on August 3 in Islamabad for a grant of up to 1,236 million yen for the “Multan Sewage and Drainage Service Improvement Project.
This project aims to improve sewerage services in Multan, a central city in the southern part of Punjab, by updating and upgrading new equipment necessary to carry out maintenance and management of sewerage facilities. This project is expected to improve the sanitation environment for local residents and contribute to SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) Goal 6 (Provide safe water and toilets worldwide).
