Odakyu Electric Railway has begun accepting reservations for the “Romance Car VSE Charter Plan,” in which an entire train of the limited express Romance Car VSE (Type 5000) can be rented.
Until its last run in the fall of 2023, the train can be rented out for a maximum of 250 passengers with applications made up to three months in advance in principle, except on days when event trains and other trains are in operation. The train will be operated via the depot on weekdays and weekends, and on weekends and holidays respectively, with a route that takes 3 to 4 hours to travel around the Odakyu Line as a departure from Shinjuku and a route that takes about 2 hours from Shinjuku to Odawara.
Onboard, passengers can communicate with each other via an onboard microphone, and both observation seats can be used as lounges. The fare is 1,420,000 yen for route A and 960,000 yen for route B.
