The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Grant Agreement (G/A) with the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on July 13 in Kinshasa for a grant of up to 2.489 billion yen for the “Matadi Port Container Terminal Development Project.
This project will improve the pavement of the container yard and install a terminal operation system at the container terminal of the Port of Matadi, a hub for international and domestic logistics in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The project will contribute to the economic development of the country by improving the safety and efficiency of cargo handling and enhancing the container handling capacity of the port. This project is expected to improve the logistics stability of the country and contribute to SDG (Sustainable Development Goal) Goal 9 (building a foundation for industrial and technological innovation).
