Reisen Hut, a mountain lodge, has been restored on Mt. Norikura in the Northern Alps of Nagano Prefecture. Founded in 1931

Posted on July 6, 2022 by News Admin

REISEN will open “Reisen Hut” (4308 Ajimu, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture) at 2100m in the middle of the 3026m Mt. Norikura, which rises in the Chubu-Sangaku National Park. The hut will be open on weekends from July 1 to the end of October, and lodging will be available from July 22.

Founded in 1931, it had been closed since 2006. This time, under the concept of “a place where climbers and non-climbers can enjoy themselves,” it will be renewed as a base camp for sightseeing, lodging, full-scale mountain climbing and cycling, and work vacations.

The Reisen Hut bus stop is located almost in the middle of the shuttle bus that connects the Norikura Kanko Center, the beginning and end of the Norikura Echo Line, a general route bus service, to the summit of Norikura Mountain. Visitors can also visit the hut for sightseeing purposes without climbing the mountain, as all they need to do is board the bus to arrive at the front of the hut.

In renovating the building, we took advantage of the good qualities of the old hut while updating it. The ceiling was removed to reveal the original beams to create more space, and the windows were enlarged to enjoy the sunrise, sunrise, daytime panorama overlooking the foothills, sunset, and starry sky.

Accommodations are mainly private rooms. There is no lights-out time, and it is possible to enjoy meals, drinks, and stargazing. Next to the hut, a natural sulfur spring is gushing out, and a bath using this spring has been provided.

Repair equipment is available to help cyclists with sudden problems. Bicycle racks are also provided for cyclists to take a break.
