The “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition” will open at the Nagano Prefectural Museum of Art on July 16, and information on the contents of the exhibition has been released (touring five venues across Japan).
Visitors can experience the production process of “Ghibli Park,” which will open on November 1 in Nagakute City, Aichi Prefecture, through indoor models and other materials.
The “Ghibli Grand Warehouse” features a “cat bath room” where children can play freely using their bodies. The “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition” will display an indoor model of the cat bath room and a model used in the production process of the cat bath. In addition, the “Nise Director’s Office” of Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse will be recreated to show Yubaba, who appears in the movie “Spirited Away,” absorbed in her work in her office.
You can meet Baron from the movie “Ears to the Ground” at the “Earth Store” on the hill of youth. At the “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition,” models and other items used in the process of making the Baron doll will be on display.
In the Valley of the Witches, which will open in the spring of 2024, Howl’s Castle from the movie “Howl’s Moving Castle” will be constructed. The model used in the process of building Howl’s Castle, which can truly be entered in Ghibli Park, will be shown at the “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition.
In addition, a scene from “Spirited Away” will appear in the “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition” among the “Famous Scenes from Ghibli” that will appear in the Ghibli Grand Warehouse. Visitors can enjoy a commemorative photo with Kaonashi as if they were the main character, Spirited Away.
The “House of Satsuki and May,” which was built as a pavilion for the 2005 Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan, under the leadership of director Goro Miyazaki, as a truly inhabitable house, will also be reproduced at 1/5 scale. The “Ghibli Park and Ghibli Exhibition” will show photos of the interior, and a pergola (a lattice-shaped sunshade shelf, installed on the terrace of the study) made from actual materials will be displayed in the same size as the real thing.
The “Arya and the Witch” exhibition held at the Mitaka no Mori Ghibli Museum was also reproduced, with director Goro Miyazaki personally explaining the differences between 2DCG and 3DCG, background art, accessories, and food, as well as an overview of the production process.
