JR Tokai will launch the “Hello! New HIDA” campaign on July 1 to commemorate the debut of the new HC85 Series HIDA limited express hybrid diesel train, which will begin commercial operation on the Takayama Line. During the campaign period, customers will be able to enjoy special travel deals and limited-edition goods as follows.
Purchasers of “Hida Road Free Ticket,” a ticket that allows passengers to freely explore the area by train, bus, or cab, during the special period will receive a “Gifu Travel Coin” voucher (worth 2,000 yen), an electronic coupon that can be used at souvenir stores and restaurants in the travel destination. This tour includes a train ride from Nagoya Station on the new HC85 Series train (a round-trip train) and a tour of the train yard, which is normally inaccessible to visitors. Visitors can also enjoy a special tour of a Kiha 82 Series train at the Linear Railroad Museum. Hotel Associa Takayama Resort is accepting reservations for the concept room “HC85 Series Room” from June 14. Accommodations will be available from July 1, starting at 18,000 yen per night with two meals.

From July 1 to July 5, JR Tokai Food Service will sell “Express Hida Piyorin” (500 yen for takeout/509 yen for eat-in), which uses ingredients from Gifu Prefecture, such as eggs from Nagoya Cochin. It will be sold at the Piyorin STATION Cafe Jean Chiane and the Piyorin shop at Nagoya Station.

Kinkamekan, which sells ekiben in JR Takayama Station, will start selling “HC85 Series De View Commemorative Lunch Box” (950 yen) featuring the HC85 Series train from June 25.
