Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Daikakuji Temple offers discount tickets

Keifuku Electric Railway will sell “Brother Sword Set Tickets” in conjunction with the “History of the Two Temples and Brother Swords” exhibition, which will be on view simultaneously at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Daikakuji Temple. The tickets will be on sale from July 2 to September 12.


The “Brothers’ Sword Set Ticket” includes a voucher for visits to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Daikakuji Temple, a two-hour bike rental from Randen Station, and a “one-day bus (city bus, Kyoto bus, Nishinippon JR bus) and Randen train ticket”. Visitors can take the train, bus, and bicycle to visit the simultaneous special exhibition of two of the Genji brothers’ swords, the Tachi Onikirimaru (Moustache Cutter) at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and the Tachi Usukiryu (Knee Maru) at Daikakuji Temple.


Price is 3,500 yen. A separate fee is required to visit Osawa Pond at Daikakuji Temple. Rental bicycles are available in two types: 20-inch and 26-inch.
