“Motto Tokyo” travel discount for Tokyo residents starts today!

Posted on June 10, 2022 by News Admin

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau will launch “More Tokyo,” a tourism promotion program for Tokyo residents, on June 10.

The subsidy is available for travel between June 10 and July 31 (including check-out on August 1), and is ¥5,000 per person per night (¥5,000 discount) for overnight stays, and ¥2,500 per person (¥2,500 discount) for day trips.

Travel products are sold by travel agencies participating in the project, and when a traveler applies for an eligible tour via the Internet, etc., the discounted price is offered at that time.

Eligible “TMG residents” are defined as having an address in Tokyo at the time of travel booking and execution, and eligible tours must be travel products with destinations in Tokyo or overnight stays in Tokyo. Travel for business purposes is also eligible for the discount.

In addition, as a condition of use, a certificate of vaccination against the novel coronavirus three times or negative proof such as PCR test is required, and the facility will ask you to present it when you stay/use the facility.

Businesses handling eligible travel products will be listed on the “More Tokyo” website after 12:00 p.m. on June 10. This project will end when the budget allocated to each business is used up.
