The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Tokyo Convention and Visitors Bureau (TTCB) will launch “More Tokyo,” a project to promote tourism in Tokyo by providing fixed-amount support for travel products. Sales will begin at noon on June 10 and will be available for travel between June 10 and July 31 (including check-out on August 1).
To promote tourism in Tokyo, the program will be implemented on a trial basis while taking thorough measures to prevent infection, and is intended for Tokyo residents who have been vaccinated three times or whose test results are negative. Subsidies will be provided only for trips that include Tokyo as a place of stay or destination (limited to tours around the city).
The subsidy amount is a 5,000 yen discount per person per night for trips involving overnight stays (6,000 yen or more), a 5,000 yen discount per person per night for overnight stays only (6,000 yen or more), and a 2,500 yen discount per person per trip for day trips (3,000 yen or more).
Directly applying at the sales counter or website of a registered travel agency that handles the applicable travel products will receive a discount of the discounted amount (including the additional 1,000 yen discount for travel products that offer a 1,000 yen discount per night per child).
When staying overnight or using a facility, an “Application for Use” form must be submitted to the facility. At that time, either a “history of three vaccinations” or “negative test results” must be confirmed, and an identification card that can verify the applicant’s identity must be presented. For details on the contents and sales schedule of the applicable travel products, please contact the registered travel agency directly.
The names and contact information of registered travel agencies that handle the travel products will be available on the official “More Tokyo” website after noon on June 10.
