American Express is running a “Cash Back Campaign” with ZIPAIR, the only Japanese LCC operating Honolulu and Los Angeles routes, until July 31. The first 50,000 cardholders who pre-register for this campaign are eligible for the campaign. If they use their cards at ZIPAIR’s website during this period, they will receive 5,000 yen for every 20,000 yen spent on their cards, up to 20,000 yen in cash back.
In addition, stores at Haneda Airport have been introducing touch-settlement with American Express cards since April, making it easier for customers to shop before departure and after arrival. In addition to Haneda Airport, touch-settlement is available at ZIPAIR’s Narita Airport location, and in the Kansai area at Kanku, Itami, and Kobe airport stores.
The card also allows payment of customs duties (traveler’s check) on souvenirs and other items in excess of the duty-free amount when returning to Japan at six domestic airports (New Chitose, Narita, Haneda, Centrair, Kansai International Airport, and Fukuoka).
