ANA, tote bags, sacoche, backpacks, etc. made from repurposed mechanics’ work clothes

Posted on May 31, 2022 by News Admin

On May 30, ANA Group began selling “ANA x ROOTE Upcycle Tote Bags” made from reused mechanics’ work clothes.

The “upcycling project” was initiated in 2019 by a mechanic who wanted to reuse fabrics from work clothes that were scheduled to be discarded. The product was commercialized after a test sale through crowdfunding.

The plan is to sell the products three times a year, first at the dedicated “ANA UPCYCLE PROJECT SHOP” website, and then at the “ANA Blue Base” training facility and the maintenance center store. A different design will be created each time, and the products will be sold one after another.

By reusing “special work clothes” filled with the thoughts of mechanics who work hard every day to ensure safe flight operations, the company aims to make effective use of resources, reduce waste, and build an environmentally friendly and sustainable society.
