On Thursday, May 19 (Japan time), the opening ceremony for the JICA Chair was held in a hybrid face-to-face/online format in conjunction with the University of Costa Rica (Universidad de Costa Rica, “UCR”).
The University of Costa Rica is the top university in Costa Rica and has been collaborating with JICA for almost half a century. UCR’s strong interest and proactive initiative have led to the establishment of the JICA Chair, which will consist of eight sessions.
The opening ceremony was attended by 182 participants, including faculty and students of the University of Costa Rica, alumni members of returning participants, and the general public.
Among them will be a lecture by a Costa Rican faculty member teaching at the University of Kitakyushu.
